Research: Studies on developmental plasticity in ventilatory control. He is particularly important in establishing protocols for chronic hypoxia or hyperoxia, and trains pre- and postdoctoral fellows to make ventilatory measurements on awake rodents.

Research: Conducted research on a wide variety of topics related to biological diversity, with a goal of understanding threats to wildlife and how to restore species populations and ecological communities to a secure and functional condition. We did research around the world where ever problems exist that we can address. Still very active in the conservation community at large and am involved in conservation issues that span the scale from local to global.
