Why I Joined METC
Many schools have some type of toxicology program, but it is usually buried deep within other programs or a subgroup of a bigger program (usually Pharmacology). In that regard, Madison is one of the few schools that has a dedicated tox program. Furthermore, last I checked online, this program was ranked number 2 in its area (UC Berkeley being number 1). This department is also different from conventional toxicology in that it blends facets of just about any science; agricultural chem, molecular bio, biochem, etc. Lastly; you can't beat the fact that Madison is a terrific city to pursue grad school - affordable, flushed with nature (if that's for you), yet urban enough to give you a 'big city feel'.
