Mentoring Program
The purpose of the Molecular and Environmental Toxicology Graduate Student Mentoring Program is to aid in the acclimation of new students to METC, graduate school life, and to the City of Madison during their first semester.
First Year Molecular & Environmental Toxicology Graduate students are invited to participate in a Mentoring Program. This program is set up to aid in the acclimation of new students to METC, graduate school life, and to the City of Madison during their first semester.
Involvement in the Mentoring Program means that the new METC graduate student (Mentee) will be paired with an experienced graduate student (Mentor) in our program. The Mentors and Mentees will meet during Orientation/Welcome Week Events such as the UW Biological Sciences Picnic and will continue to meet up throughout the first semester. Some activities that Mentors and Mentees can do are coffee breaks, meeting for lunch, social gatherings, visiting State Street, etc. Mentors will be a resource for questions about the METC program, rotations, research, seminars, graduate school, and life in Madison. There will also be a get-together in October for all the Mentors and Mentees.
The Mentor Program will help METC First Years students have a less chaotic transition to grad school.
